I grew up in Istanbul, the son of a taxi driver, and came to the United States on a government scholarship. Three decades later I serve as Provost and tenured Full Professor at Virscend University, after leading the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at the University of South Florida as dean and endowed chair.
My work sits where technology meets people: hospitality and tourism technology, artificial intelligence in education, and experiential learning that gets students into the real world.
